Residential security bollards are a great way to protect any home. They offer protection from vehicles colliding with your property, prevent trespassers and illegal parking, and can even function as an excellent deterrent for carjackers, saving your car from the rising levels of driveway theft. Bollards are the perfect all-round solution for security and safety.
But how do they do it? In this post, we’ll break down exactly why Bulldog Bollards security bollards are such effective security solutions.
Withstanding impact
Our foldable and telescopic security bollards are designed to withstand heavy impacts from vehicles, making them perfect for preventing car theft. Installed at the bottom of your driveway or behind your parking space, they physically stop thieves from driving your car away. Any attempt to drive straight through our security bollards will considerably damage the vehicle and end in the thief being caught.
Some bollards can withstand the impact of a 4,500-pound vehicle travelling at 30mph, whilst our heavy-duty commercial bollards can stop vehicles over 5,000 pounds. The thicker the steel wall of your bollard, the more impact it can typically resist.
High-quality materials
All of our bollards here at Bulldog Bollards are crafted in the UK and support local industry in the heart of Birmingham. Unlike bollards made and shipped from other countries, our bollards are created from the finest UK mild steel to guarantee high-quality performance and longevity.
Mild steel is used for bollards due to its ductile properties, which can be bent out of shape without losing its toughness or breaking. Many of our bollards are zinc-coated to protect them from weathering and corrosion.
Easy to operate
Our residential bollards are removable, collapsable, or retractable to allow you to drive straight over them when not in use. We take measures to ensure that anyone can use our bollards, from secure locking systems with padlocks to weight reduction measures on telescopic bollards.
Strong foundations
For many of our residential security bollards, we dig into the ground to create a stable base. For telescopic bollards, this hole is roughly 825mm deep and houses the ground socket. This is where the bollards rest when not in use to allow it to lie flush against the floor.
Our removable bollards require less digging. We create a hole roughly 400mm x 400mm x 400mm for the base of the bollard. The bollard connects to the base via a padlock and can be easily lifted out of the ground to provide access at a moment’s notice, leaving behind an anti-slip ground cover.
Collapsible posts do not require any digging, making them perfect for renters or those who cannot dig on their driveways due to pipes or cables. In these cases, we secure the base of the bollard via bolts into the ground.
First-rate installation
Correct installation can make or break your security solutions. An incorrectly installed security bollard may be powerless to stop vehicle collisions, deter carjackers, or withstand any strong weather conditions. An incorrect installation can even present a safety risk when operating the bollard.
Whilst other companies may provide you with bollards, at Bulldog Bollards we go the extra mile to ensure that your security bollards are installed correctly for maximum efficiency and safety. We offer installation options across the mainland UK.
A Bulldog Bollards security post is an excellent safety and security solution for any home, offering you peace of mind against carjackers and thieves. We provide high-quality products created right here in the UK and, with a year guarantee on all of our products, you can rest assured that your security bollards are made to last.
